Is Lamar Jackson the clear front runner for NFL MVP this year?
Mackenzie Salmon reacts to some blind stats between some of the front runners of the NFL MVP race.
Sports Seriously
The AFC South has long been a laughingstock of a division in the NFL. Ever since Peyton Manning left the Indianapolis Colts for the Denver Broncos, the AFC South has been filled with mediocrity and the league’s basement dwellers. 2024 has been no different.
With two weeks left in the regular season, the AFC South currently has the third and fourth overall draft picks. Those picks belong to the Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans, and wouldn’t you know it, they play each other this weekend.
While there are zero playoff implications involved in this game, there is a lot of pride at stake. These are two teams that despise one another, and winding up at the bottom of the division brings tremendous embarrassment that stays with the organization until next year.
Here are our experts’ predictions for this AFC South matchup.
The Jaguars are favorites to defeat the Titans, according to the BetMGM NFL odds. Not interested in this game? Check out expert picks and best bets for every NFL game this week.
Steelers vs. Chiefs | Texans vs. Ravens | Bears vs. Seahawks | Patriots vs. Chargers | Bengals vs. Broncos | Rams vs. Cardinals | Bills vs. Jets | Jaguars vs. Titans | Saints vs. Raiders | Buccaneers vs. Panthers | Eagles vs. Cowboys | Giants vs. Colts | Browns vs. Dolphins | Vikings vs. Packers | Commanders vs. Falcons | 49ers vs. Lions
I would avoid this game altogether, and I think there are far more interesting plays out there. If you must, I’m picking the Jaguars because, even with Mac Jones at quarterback, I think Jacksonville’s quarterback situation is more stable than Tennessee’s.
If you’re a fan of good football, I don’t suggest you watch. This game is all about the 2025 NFL draft order.
I wouldn’t touch this one with a 39-and-a-half-foot pole.
Who wants a better draft pick? In a battle between bad vs. bad, the Titans are the ones that keep the chances for a top-three pick alive.
