Cowboys at Eagles: Predictions, picks, odds for NFL Week 17 game

play

The stakes aren’t as high when the Dallas Cowboys (7-8) and Philadelphia Eagles (12-3) meet in Week 17, but they remain fierce rivals that always want to beat each other so expect plenty of intensity inside the Linc.

Don’t tell the Cowboys they’re eliminated from playoff contention; they’ve been playing solid football even though the season was written off months ago. The defense has made some key plays a bad start, and Mike McCarthy can continue to make a case to keep his job.

Not only did the Eagles fall to the Washington Commanders, but lost quarterback Jalen Hurts to a concussion. The No. 1 seed seems out of reach, so Philadelphia will try to make sure all is right as the No. 7 seed in the NFC will likely be visiting in the first round. Even though playoffs are secured, the fanbase will not be pleased seeing a loss against Dallas.

Lorenzo Reyes: Eagles 24, Cowboys 21

Philadelphia should win, especially after what happened last week against the Commanders, but the uncertainty about Jalen Hurts’ availability casts doubt about them covering by this many points. I’d wait until later in the week to get clarity there.

Tyler Dragon: Eagles 27, Cowboys 21

Jalen Hurts’ (concussion) availability looms large in this NFC East battle. The Eagles probably won’t get the No. 1 seed in the NFC after last week’s loss, but they still want to enter the playoffs on a high note.

Richard Morin: Eagles 29, Cowboys 26

The Eagles will be chomping at the bit to beat up on the Cowboys after a loss to the Commanders, but I don’t think it will be that easy for them. Dallas is playing hard, so I like them to cover.

Jordan Mendoza: Eagles 26, Cowboys 20

Philadelphia will feel much better about this matchup if Jalen Hurts can suit up. No matter who plays under center, the Eagles’ talent should be enough to beat the Cowboys. However, it’s tough to back Philadelphia to cover the points not knowing who will play.
