The Seattle Seahawks are hanging onto their playoff hopes by a thread. One more win by the Washington Commanders would eliminate the Seahawks from wild-card contention. Luckily, the NFC West would still be within reach. Still, at this point, every game is a must-win for the Northwestern Birds.
Their opponents this weekend will be the Chicago Bears, one of the most disappointing teams in the NFL this year. After having incredibly high expectations for the first time in years, rookie quarterback Caleb Williams failed to produce at the level expected of a No. 1 overall pick. While this team has shown flashes, they’ve ultimately failed at every opportunity to make an impact.
That doesn’t mean they can be taken lightly though. This Bears team has a lot of talent, so anyone who looks past them could wind up staring an L in the face. Here are our experts’ predictions for this Week 17 showdown.

Steelers vs. Chiefs | Texans vs. Ravens | Bears vs. Seahawks | Patriots vs. Chargers | Bengals vs. Broncos | Rams vs. Cardinals | Bills vs. Jets | Jaguars vs. Titans | Saints vs. Raiders | Buccaneers vs. Panthers | Eagles vs. Cowboys | Giants vs. Colts | Browns vs. Dolphins | Vikings vs. Packers | Commanders vs. Falcons | 49ers vs. Lions
These are two teams that are prone to wild swings, and spurts of inefficient play at quarterback. Still, I’m going to give the nod to Seattle, which has much more to play for and should be motivated after a tough loss against the Vikings.
The Seahawks must win out and hope the Rams lose in Week 17. The Bears have lost nine straight games. It’s the second-longest active losing streak in the NFL.
The Bears have been killing me all year. But hey, I’m a masochist.
Seattle has to win to keep the season alive. The defense flexes its muscle and takes advantage of the poor Bears.
