The list of stars involved in Netflix’s Christmas broadcast of two NFL games doesn’t end with the players on the field and the 22-person cast of on-air talent.
Singer/songwriter Mariah Carey will kick off the holiday festivities on Wednesday with a pre-recorded performance of her hit single “All I Want for Christmas Is You.”
Carey is the first of two music stars to play a part in Netflix’s broadcast of the NFL Week 17 doubleheader on Christmas. Beyoncé will also perform at halftime during the second game of the day: the Houston Texans’ clash with the Baltimore Ravens at home.
Here’s what we know about Carey’s Christmas performance:
Carey’s performance will be the opening act for Netflix’s NFL doubleheader presentation.
According to Netflix, the broadcast will feature a pre-recorded production of Carey singing her hit single “All I Want for Christmas Is You” ahead of the live games.
The first game, which will see the Pittsburgh Steelers host the Kansas City Chiefs, kicks off at 1 p.m. ET. The NFL announced that the pregame show for the game will begin two hours earlier, at 11 a.m. ET.
Neither the NFL nor Netflix has announced a specific start time for Carey’s performance as of the time of writing, but it will take place in that window between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. ET.
