While Week 13 brought pleasant surprises for some, others were not so pleasantly surprised. If you had Russell Wilson in your lineup, you were rewarded with one of his best career performances as his 26.86 fantasy points were the most he’s put up since Week 4 of the 2022 season.
If you started Kirk Cousins, however…I’m so sorry. In contrast with Wilson, Cousins had one of his worst career days, including four interceptions for a measly 2.10 fantasy points, continuing a downward trend over the last three weeks.
But let’s focus on the positive. Here were Week 13’s top fantasy football scorers for each position.
Despite throwing three interceptions and a loss to the Broncos on Monday night, Browns quarterback Jameis Winston scored the most fantasy points of all the QBs in Week 13 with 32.98. He finished the game with 34-of-58 completions for 497 yards and four touchdowns plus three carries for 11 yards and a two-point conversion pass. His high-risk style of play rewarded him in fantasy, but ultimately the interceptions lost them the game.
The top fantasy scoring running back of Week 13 was Tampa Bay’s Bucky Irving with 27.5 points, a career-best for the rookie. It was his first 100-yard rushing game and third consecutive game averaging at least 5.5 yards per carry. He finished with 25 carries for 152 yards and a touchdown, plus three catches (on three targets) for 33 yards in their win over the Carolina Panthers. Irving has come out as the Bucs’ lead running back over Rachaad White.
As Jameis Winston was the top scoring quarterback, it was his receiver who scored the most fantasy points in Week 13. Browns’ Jerry Jeudy outscored the rest of the WRs with a total of 40.50 fantasy points. He recorded career highs in receptions and receiving yards, finishing the game with nine-of-13 catches for 235 yards and a 70-yard touchdown, plus a two-point conversion catch against his former team, the Broncos.
Despite a heartbreaking loss to the Chiefs, Raiders tight end Brock Bowers finished as the top fantasy scorer at his position with 30.20 points. That result made him just the second rookie tight end in history to have multiple 30-point performances. He finished the game with 10-of-14 targets for a career-high 140 yards and a touchdown, leading the Raiders in receptions, receiving yards, and targets. It was his second 100-yard game and third with double-digit receptions. He’s also now got 197.5 fantasy points on the season, the second-most by a rookie tight end in history through 12 games, behind only Mike Ditka in 1961 (who is also the only other rookie with multiple 30-point games).
Week 13’s top scoring kicker is actually a three-way tie between Steelers’ Chris Boswell, Bucs’ Chase McLaughlin, and Cardinals’ Chad Ryland, who all put up 16 fantasy points. Boswell made three of four field goal tries plus all five of his extra point attempts in the Steelers’ win over the Bengals. McLaughlin made four of five field goal tries and both of his extra point attempts in the Bucs’ overtime win over the Panthers. And Ryland made five of six field goal attempts and his one extra point attempt in the Cardinals’ 23-22 loss to the Vikings.
Week 13’s top scoring defense was the Denver Broncos in Week 13 with 20 fantasy points. While Winston and Jeudy had big nights for the Browns, the Broncos’ defense made plays that made the difference in their victory. With just under two minutes to go in the game, the Browns were up by two and Ja‘Quan McMillan snatched the ball in front of Elijah Moore, fell to the ground, but got back up after he realized no one touched him, and took off for the touchdown. Shortly after, Winston threw a goal-line interception into the hands of Cody Barton with 34 seconds left in the game to put a bow on the W.
