Fantasy football waiver wire additions: Eight players to pick up for NFL Week 12

November 18, 2024

Week 11 of the 2024 NFL season is wrapping up with just the “Monday Night Football” game left to play following the San Diego Chargers vs. Cincinnati Bengals matchup on “Sunday Night Football.”

Whether your NFL fantasy team is still at the top of your league or you’re trying to climb out from the bottom half of the standings, there’s still plenty of depth available to help you make a strong push toward the playoffs. Your next playmaker can be found on the waiver wire to fill the gaps on your fantasy roster next week.

Here are eight players that might be available on the waiver wire this week:

It might be time to consider Richardson again. The second-year quarterback spent two weeks on the bench before getting the start in Week 11 and leading the Colts to the 28-27 victory over the New York Jets.  He completed 20 of 30 passes for 272 yards and a touchdown on the road. He also contributed to the rushing attack with 10 carries for 32 yards and two touchdowns. He finished the week with a season-high 28.08 fantasy points and is expected to start against the Detroit Lions.

The tight end was a popular pickup over the weekend and could still be available in your league. Knox is expected to see an increase in his reps as long as Dalton Kincaid remains inactive with a knee injury. The only downside for Knox is that the Bills will be on a bye week. While that may be enough time for Kincaid to return for Buffalo, it would be smart for managers with Kincaid on the roster to stash Knox as a plan B at the position.

Hill produced a strong outing to lead New Orleans to the 35-14 victory over the Browns on Sunday. He finished with 38.52 fantasy points after rushing the ball for 138 yards and three touchdowns on seven carries. He also contributed as a passer and pass catcher. Hill was the focal point of the offense but as those who have followed Hill closely know it could be hit or miss when it comes to weekly production. It will also be important to see what offensive positions he’s labeled as in your respective leagues.

If you need a solution at quarterback, Wilson might be an option. He’s led the Steelers to four straight victories, which means he’s locked in as the starter for the time being despite Justin Fields getting a package against the Ravens on Sunday. Wilson completed 23 of 36 passes for 205 yards and an interception, finishing with just 7.30 fantasy points in what was considered a favorable fantasy matchup. If you put that point total aside, he’s produced at least 13 points in each of his last three games.

Valdes-Scantling could be an instant pickup if you are looking for long-term depth at the receiver position. He’s seen no more than four targets over the last three weeks but has made the most of his opportunities in the last two games. Valdes-Scantling produced 24.40 fantasy points after catching all three of his targets for 109 yards and two touchdowns against the Atlanta Falcons. He’s followed that performance with two catches (on four targets) for 87 yards and a touchdown this weekend against the Browns for 15.70 fantasy points. He will be on a bye for Week 12 but has a favorable fantasy matchup against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 13.

If you haven’t been thrilled with the play of your defense, the Rams might be worth looking for on the waiver wire.  Los Angeles has produced at least six fantasy points over the last six games. The Rams defense has produced at least three sacks in each of the last four games and both an interception and a fumble in each of the last two games.

Smith rewarded owners who started him on Sunday with a season-high 25.10-point fantasy performance in Week 11. He finished with six receptions on eight targets with 101 yards and two touchdowns in the Dolphins’ 34-19 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders.

Nix produced 28.78 points in a dominant 38-6 victory over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday. He completed 28 of 37 passes for 307 yards and four touchdowns. It was the first 300-yard performance of the rookie’s season. Nix should be viewed as a QB1 option this week with a favorable matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders.
