Sports Seriously
After an unfortunate defeat at the hands of the New York Jets on Thursday Night Football, the Houston Texans have had ample rest time to prepare for a very difficult matchup against the Detroit Lions.
While C.J. Stroud has mostly failed to improve upon his remarkable rookie season, many of his struggles can be pinned on injuries to his top two receivers Nico Collins and Stefon Diggs. Despite Stroud’s recent struggles, his Texans still sit comfortably in first place in the AFC South. They are two games up on second-place Indianapolis, but that lead could evaporate quickly, especially with a matchup against Detroit on the horizon.
The Lions have looked nearly unbeatable at times this season. Last weekend was no different. The Green Bay Packers are one of the better teams in the NFC this year, and the Lions took them to the cleaners. The Lions have more touchdowns (28) than their quarterback Jared Goff has incompletions (24) over the last six weeks. Perhaps the Texans can put an end to this remarkable streak.

Detroit looks like the most balanced, complete team in football. The Lions are winning in different ways and playing with intensity and physicality. Detroit is red hot and I think this is a great spot for them, given the line.
The Lions look like a buzzsaw on offense. They have the top-scoring offense in the NFL. The move to get edge rusher Za’Darius Smith means Detroit is all in. Houston desperately needs WR Nico Collins back.
Detroit will have a better chance at stopping Joe Nixon after acquiring Za’Darius Smith.
There aren’t many things that seem like they could stop the Lions right now. Houston plays a great game, but Detroit pulls off a late score to continue the win streak.
