October 30, 2024

The Philadelphia Eagles (5-2) are catching fire, and they’ll go against another struggling team in the Jacksonville Jaguars (2-6) in Week 9.

A second-half blowout of the Cincinnati Bengals gave Philadelphia another dominant showing in consecutive weeks. The Eagles have won three straight games since coming off the bye week, and they are beginning to look like Super Bowl contenders.

The season for Jacksonville continues to go wrong after a tough loss to the Green Bay Packers. To make matters worse, it lost Christian Kirk for the season. The Jaguars playoff hopes are slim, and they likely rest of the outcome in Lincoln Financial Field.

NFL Week 9 odds, predictions and picks

Jets vs. Texans | Falcons vs. Cowboys | Ravens vs. Broncos | Bills vs. Dolphins | Panthers vs. Saints | Bengals vs. Raiders | Browns vs. Chargers | Giants vs. Commanders | Titans vs. Patriots | Cardinals vs. Bears | Eagles vs. Jaguars | Packers vs. Lions | Seahawks vs. Rams | Vikings vs. Colts | Chiefs vs. Buccaneers

Lorenzo Reyes: Eagles 29, Jaguars 19

Philadelphia has had a nice month and looks much more like the team that has been a contender in the NFC. The Jaguars did hold their own against the Packers, but I think Philly’s ability to run the ball and defend makes this a tough matchup for Jacksonville.

Tyler Dragon: Eagles 30, Jaguars 20

The Eagles seem to be finding their groove. Jalen Hurts is the first player in NFL history with multiple rushing touchdowns and a passer rating of 100 or higher in consecutive games. Hurts might continue the streak against the lowly Jaguars.

Richard Morin: Eagles 28, Jaguars 23

Not sure I like Philadelphia by more than a touchdown but they certainly get the job done at home. But I’ll back the Jags against the spread if it stays this large.

Jordan Mendoza: Eagles 30, Jaguars 24

As good as Philadelphia looks, don’t be surprised if Jacksonville hangs around enough to annoy the Eagles fanbase. But the Jaguars don’t have enough to provide the shocking upset.
