NFL Week 8 Overreactions
Mackenzie Salmon breaks down the wildest games from Week 8.
Sports Seriously
The New England Patriots (2-6) are rebuilding, but they’re coming off a big win, and they’ll try to keep some momentum going against another struggling team in the Tennessee Titans (1-7).
If there was a moment that signaled the end of the New York Jets season, it likely will be pinned to the day the Patriots took down the supposed super-team. It wasn’t a pretty win, but it was enough to spoil a division rival while giving a bright spot in a tough season.
Tennessee might have hit a new low when it took a thumping from the Detroit Lions in a 38-point loss. The Titans are one of two teams to only have one win; can they join the Patriots with a much-needed victory?

Jets vs. Texans | Falcons vs. Cowboys | Ravens vs. Broncos | Bills vs. Dolphins | Panthers vs. Saints | Bengals vs. Raiders | Browns vs. Chargers | Giants vs. Commanders | Titans vs. Patriots | Cardinals vs. Bears | Eagles vs. Jaguars | Packers vs. Lions | Seahawks vs. Rams | Vikings vs. Colts | Chiefs vs. Buccaneers
Frankly, I would stay away from this play, altogether, but I’ll give a slight edge to New England. There are far more interesting matchups out there this week.
The Patriots and Titans have a combined three wins. This game will impact 2025 draft positions. Both these clubs are in a rebuild. A win against the Jets last week should boost New England’s confidence.
New England may be rebuilding but they don’t deserve to be 3.5-point underdogs against a Tennessee squad that is arguably in worse shape. Especially if Drake Maye is cleared to play, it’s got to be the Patriots in this one.
Tennessee is coming off an embarrassing performance while New England is riding high. The Titans completely flip it around with a win in a low-scoring affair.
