LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Monomyth Coffee has served the Lubbock community one cup at a time since 2019.

Brothers Trenton and Randall Jackson found this nearly hundred-year-old building near Avenue U and Broadway through family.

The Jackson brothers knew they wanted to start a coffee shop and Monomyth quickly became a Lubbock gem.

Co-owner Trenton Jackson says receiving this recognition is humbling.

“It’s a testament to the great work that our team is doing here and the values we have as a company and the impact we try to make on guests,” Trenton said.

Trenton says the recognition is all due to the community that has constantly supported them.

“All the really great businesses and other people doing really great things in this town and it’s really humbling to see the support from day one,” Trenton said. “That praise had been nominated and all of the voting that people were cheering us on from day one it was just really humbling and we’re proud to represent Lubbock, too.”

Joshua Grimes, a sophomore at Texas Tech, says Monomyth is always his go-to spot.

“I came here today because it’s kind of a laid-back place and it’s a good place to dive into my Bible and dive into my homework and get stuff done,” Grimes said. “Definitely the people. I love the staff; the staff is super nice and just the vibe of the whole thing is amazing.”

Randall believes Lubbock has a bright future and encourages all business owners to pour out their creativity here.

“Lubbock really is a special place,” Randall said. “I think you know there are several creatives in Lubbock, trying to do something really cool and I would just encourage people to go ahead and keep, keep going.”

The Jackson brothers thank the city of Lubbock and say they’re looking forward to serving anyone who comes through the doors.

“Just a huge thanks to everybody who has supported us over the last five years, and a hello to those who haven’t heard of us. We would like to see them around,” Randall said.
