The NFL begins Week 6 of the season with an NFC West matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks.
The 49ers have had an up-and-down start to the season that features a 24-23 loss to the Arizona Cardinals last week. The Seahawks had a strong start to the season winning the first three games but went on to suffer a loss in their last two games.
Quarterback Brock Purdy completed 19-of-5 passes for 244 yards, a touchdown and two interceptions against the Cardinals. The 49ers have struggled to stay healthy this season with the most notable name being running back Christian McCaffrey, who hasn’t played in a game all season because of calf and Achilles tendinitis issues. Safety Talanoa Hufanga (wrist) and kicker Jake Moody (right ankle) are listed on the 49ers’ injury report this week after not participating in practice on Wednesday.
Quarterback Geno Smith had to do a little bit of everything on offense last week in the 29-20 loss to the New York Giants. Smith completed 28-of-40 passes for 284 yards and a touchdown. He also led the Seahawks’ rushing attack with 72 yards on four carries.
Running backs Kenneth Walker III and Zach Charbonnet combined for seven carries for 30 total rushing yards. Neither running back appeared on the injury report this week. Defensive tackle Byron Murphy II (hamstring) and cornerback Riq Woolen (ankle) are listed as “out” on Wednesday’s injury report.
