Baltimore Ravens at Cincinnati Bengals: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 5 game

October 2, 2024

play

After a very slow start to the season, the Baltimore Ravens have returned to form, and in the last two weeks, they’ve re-established themselves as one of the best teams in the NFL. The Cincinnati Bengals have also gotten off to a slow start, but they’ve been less fortunate, needing a matchup against the Carolina Panthers to earn their first win of the season.

Despite all of Joe Burrow‘s weapons being fully healthy, the presence of Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and the two-headed backfield of Zack Moss and Chase Brown has not helped the Bengals to a .500 record. How will they fare against a Baltimore rushing attack that has decimated teams such as Dallas and Buffalo the past two weeks?

Here are our experts’ predictions for this Week 5 showdown.

Lorenzo Reyes: Ravens 26, Bengals 19

Baltimore is, far and away, the most dominant rushing team in the NFL, averaging 45.5 more rushing yards per game than the next-closest team. The Bengals struggle to stop the run. As long as the Ravens play to their strengths, this is a spot they should easily handle.

Tyler Dragon: Ravens 28, Bengals 27

The Bengals are the more desperate team as they attempt to dig themselves out of a self-imposed hole. The Ravens look like they could be a buzzsaw with Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry. Baltimore predictably has the NFL’s top rushing offense. The Ravens’ pass defense, however, is going to be put to the test.

Jordan Mendoza: Ravens 27, Bengals 20

Cincinnati hasn’t been the best at stopping the run. That’s good news for Lamar Jackson and “King Henry” to move to 3-2.
