The NFL standings are starting to gain a bit of clarity heading into Week 4, with some teams hoping to stay atop their divisions while others look to recover from disappointing openings to the 2024 season.
Thursday night saw the Dallas Cowboys open the Week 4 schedule with a 20-15 win over the New York Giants, riding a strong defensive performance to an NFC East divisional win that may end up being critical by season’s end.
The Seattle Seahawks, Minnesota Vikings, Kansas City Chiefs, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Buffalo Bills all head into Sunday with perfect 3-0 records, giving each team a real platform to pursue a spot in the playoffs. However, most of these teams face tough games this weekend: the Seahawks, Vikings, and Chiefs all face 2-1 foes, while the Bills take on a Baltimore Ravens team regarded as much stronger than a 1-2 record indicates.
Meanwhile, for the last three winless teams, this weekend’s games are huge. The Cincinnati Bengals, Tennessee Titans, Jacksonville Jaguars are all 0-3, and need a win to jump-start their respective seasons. Despite a poor start, Cincinnati is heavily favored against the troubled Carolina Panthers, while Tennessee faces a Miami Dolphins team in need of answers on offense. On the other hand, the Jaguars face a tough test in a road contest against the AFC South-leading Houston Texans.
