Cleveland Browns at Las Vegas Raiders: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 4 game

September 25, 2024

play

This Week 4 matchup features a pair of teams out for blood. Both squads were handed embarrassing losses from winless teams in Week 3. The Las Vegas Raiders were thoroughly dominated by the Andy Dalton-led Carolina Panthers. On the other side, despite improved play from Deshaun Watson and Amari Cooper, the Cleveland Browns needed a late touchdown to even make their matchup with the New York Giants close.

Both of these teams should be itching for a win, and both could achieve just that. There are holes in each of these squads that don’t seem anywhere close to being filled. The Raiders lack a run game and can’t seem to get the ball to star wideout Davante Adams. The Browns‘ defense has not been as good as advertised and Jerome Ford has not wound up being a worthy Nick Chubb replacement. That means this game could come down to the quarterback play. So, who will outduel who between Gardner Minshew and Deshaun Watson?

Lorenzo Reyes: Raiders 18, Browns 14

At some point, we need to start worrying about the Browns. Their offense is too unreliable with Deshaun Watson at quarterback. Cleveland was gifted an early touchdown against the Giants and then could not do much else the rest of the game. Antonio Pierce had to call out his Raiders team, however, for their effort. I don’t like this play either way and would tend to stay away.

Tyler Dragon: Browns 22, Raiders 20

Browns QB Deshaun Watson’s underperformed and Raiders QB Gardner Minshew’s job is on thin ice. The Browns have the better team, but Watson’s play is a hindrance. Cleveland desperately needs Watson to live up to his five-year, fully guaranteed contract of $230 million.

Richard Morin: Browns 26, Raiders 20 (OT)

The Raiders will be reeling after two rough losses and a 1-3 record. The Browns, meanwhile, are right back in it with a win and a 2-2 record.

Jordan Mendoza: Browns 24, Raiders 20

The Raiders are scratching their heads after the thumping from Carolina. The offense is still out of sorts, and the Cleveland defense takes advantage of it to get a much-needed win.
