Man who raped and robbed masseuse in Stafford facing over 18 years in prison

A Triangle man who raped his masseuse before robbing her at knifepoint nearly two years ago was convicted of two serious felony offenses Monday in Stafford.

Alan Davon Oliver, 20, pleaded no contest in Stafford Circuit Court to sodomy and robbery with a deadly weapon. As part of a plea agreement, his maximum prison sentence will be capped at 18 years and seven months when he is sentenced Jan. 9.

Oliver’s plea came just before a bench trial in front of Judge Michael Levy was about to begin. As part of the deal agreed to by prosecutor Sarah Watkins and defense attorney Eugene Frost, two charges were dropped and another was reduced.

The evidence presented by Watkins showed that the attack took place on Dec. 28, 2022, at a massage parlor at 385 Garrisonville Road in North Stafford. Earlier that month, Oliver was seen on camera stealing about $1,000 from a desk drawer at the business.

He returned to the business on the 28th and paid the victim, who was working alone in the business, for a 30-minute massage. They then went into a hallway that was out of the view of the camera, but the audio picked up the woman yelling “no, no, no!”

Prior to the sexual assault, the woman acknowledged that she offered Oliver a sex act that fell short of what he requested. She said he then proceeded to rape her.

After the attack, the camera showed Oliver returning to the desk from which he’d gotten money previously. The distraught woman came back into the camera’s view a short time later wearing no pants.

Oliver, who was easy to identify in part because he paid with his credit card, was seen forcefully dragging the woman back into the massage room. She told police that he demanded money while threatening her with a kitchen knife he’d taken from the desk. She showed him where the money was and Oliver took it and left.

Before leaving, according to the evidence, Oliver turned off the circuit breaker in the business in an apparent attempt to disable the cameras that had recorded parts of the incident. The victim, who speaks limited English, was heard talking on the phone in another language regarding what had just happened to her.

Oliver was arrested the next day and has been in the Rappahannock Regional Jail ever since.
