Ducks Wire College Football Top 25 rankings after Week 3

The first two weeks of the year featured frustration for the Oregon Ducks, who saw their national ranking drop despite two wins on the record.

After a dominant performance against the Oregon State Beavers that has left fans feeling good about their team’s chances for the first time this season, will we see the rankings adjust accordingly?

Oregon beat their in-state rivals, 49-14, in the Civil War on Saturday and looked every part of the team we expect to compete for a spot in the College Football Playoff this year. The offense scored on every possession, and the defense turned its play around at halftime and pitched a shutout in the final 30 minutes.

Elsewhere in the nation, we also saw some shakeups. No. 1 Georgia was taken to the wire by an unranked Kentucky team. No. 2 Texas won big, but potentially lost its starting QB for the near future. No. 6 Missouri won the only ranked matchup of the weekend, but didn’t look nearly as good as the teams behind them.

After Week 3 of the season, there are opinions to be had and rankings to be made. Ultimately, these numbers will not mean a thing when it comes to the grand scheme of things, but it’s a good snapshot of where we’re currently at.
