As Beavers Market says goodbye, here’s how it came to be in Fort Collins
The little grocery store opened on Mountain Avenue in 1976. After 45 years, it’s saying goodbye to the city that grew around it.

USA TODAY has turned its eyes to the grocery aisles in its latest 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards.
The awards, which highlight and rank “the very best in travel, food + drink and lifestyle,” recently vetted nominations for the country’s Top 10 butcher shops, grocery stores, grocery store bakeries and more. It released its resulting lists Wednesday.
One chain with a Fort Collins shop made the cut of best grocery stores, while two others nabbed spots in the grocery store bakery rankings.
