When the UFC puts on big events, the world watches. Often, cards are stacked with big title fights while the future of combat sports showcase their skills. UFC CEO Dana White looks to do all that and more when the company heads to the Sphere in Las Vegas on September 14.
The Sphere, a Madison Square Garden Company project, cost $2.3 billion. It features 580,000 square feet of LED displays, making any event almost an immersive experience. U2, Phish, and Dead & Company have held shows there. Now, the UFC looks to leave its mark.
The show will be around Mexican Independence Day. White believes UFC 306 will top anything anyone will ever do in the Sphere in the future.

The main event will see the colorful Sean O’Malley defend the UFC bantamweight title against top contender and wrestler Merab Dvalishvili.
The co-main event will be a trilogy fight between Alexa Grasso and Valentina Shevchenko for the UFC flyweight title. Grasso beat Shevchenko for the belt at UFC 285. The two fought to a draw in a rematch last September, with the event dubbed UFC Noche.
