Las Vegas Raiders at Baltimore Ravens: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 2 game

September 11, 2024

play

A pair of teams hoping to to get their first win of the season will meet on Sunday when the Las Vegas Raiders (0-1) visit the Baltimore Ravens (0-1).

On the 2024 season opener, Baltimore’s comeback bid against the Kansas City Chiefs fell just short after the potential game-tying touchdown on the final play was reversed upon replay review. The No. 1 seed last season, Baltimore is attempting to stay near the top of the AFC and avoid its first 0-2 start since 2015.

Despite taking over SoFi Stadium, Las Vegas was unable to spoil Jim Harbaugh’s Chargers debut in the season opener. The offense was unable to get anything going and put the spotlight back on the side of the ball that struggled last season. Can Gardner Minshew turn it around and pull off a stunner in Baltimore?

NFL Week 2 odds, predictions and picks

Dolphins vs. Bills | Ravens vs. Raiders | Panthers vs. Chargers | Cowboys vs. Saints | Lions vs. Buccaneers | Packers vs. Colts | Jaguars vs. Browns | Vikings vs. 49ers | Patriots vs. Seahawks | Titans vs. Jets | Commanders vs. Giants | Cardinals vs. Rams | Chiefs vs. Bengals | Broncos vs. Steelers | Texans vs. Bears | Eagles vs. Falcons

Lorenzo Reyes: Ravens 24, Raiders 19

The Raiders are very much in a transitional period, but 10 points is a little rich for a ball-control offense that struggles to completely dominate and put teams away. I could see the Ravens jumping out to a lead, only to see Vegas cut into it later in the game; that has been a fairly prominent trend for Baltimore in recent seasons — they rarely blow teams out.

Tyler Dragon: Ravens 31, Raiders 20

The Raiders go from one Harbaugh brother to the next. They’ll end Week 2 0-2 against the Harbaughs. The Ravens were frustrated after their Week 1 loss, but they have some things they walked away confident about. Baltimore can’t be so dependent on Lamar Jackson.

Richard Morin: Ravens 30, Raiders 10

Baltimore gets back on track after an opening-week loss. I still like the under here, though.

Jordan Mendoza: Ravens 27, Raiders 10

Even though it resulted in a loss, Baltimore showed it still can compete with Kansas City and contend to dethrone the defending champions come playoff time. This team will take its frustrations out on an offense that is in big trouble and will hope to be lucky enough to get in the endzone. It should be a cakewalk for the Ravens while the frustrations for Davante Adams continue to grow.
