Browns’ Denzel Ward discusses return from fifth concussion
Browns three-time Pro Bowl cornerback Denzel Ward discusses his decision to return from his fifth documented concussion with Cleveland.
Week 1 of the 2024 NFL season is here and the afternoon slate of games features matchups between multiple playoff teams from last season. That includes the defending NFC East champion Dallas Cowboys taking on defending AFC wild card Cleveland Browns.
Dallas’ off-season featured a contract stalemate with first-team All-Pro wide receiver CeeDee Lamb. That was eventually resolved and Dallas’ top offensive weapon is back for good. On defense, edge Micah Parsons is one of the top pass rushers in the league and leads a unit under new coordinator Mike Zimmer.
Cleveland kept most of last year’s top defense intact this off-season. Defending Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett and arguably the best secondary in the league remain intact in 2024. The Browns start the season without star running back Nick Chubb but expect him to return mid-season.
