KEVIN Durant has become the highest scorer in Team USA Olympic history.
In Team USA’s 122-87 win over Brazil, the NBA superstar scored his 489th point to become the highest point-scorer.
Durant passed Lisa Leslie, who formerly played for the women’s team and held the record of 488 points.
Leslie Shared a statement to congratulated Durant on breaking her long-standing record.
“Congratulations @KDTrey5 I’m honored to have you break my @TeamUSA Olympic record!!!” Leslie said.
“Our dedication to our country is evident and etched in stone!! Now go get another Gold medal my friend!
“One Team, One Goal, Gold!”
Durant also shared a statement regarding the record, saying that some day someone will come along and break his record in the future.
“Records are meant to be broken,” Durant wrote.
“I’ll hold on to this until another great comes along and passes me up.
“Lisa Leslie you are the gold standard in basketball, I appreciate your love and support throughout the years… much love to you always.
“It’s all about the gold baby. Let’s get it fellas.”
Fans shared their praises for Durant after he broke the record, calling him the Olympic goat.

After Durant and Team USA beat Brazil in the quarter-final, they are moving on to play Serbia in the semi-final.
Team USA already beat Serbia twice in the Paris Olympics, winning 105-79 in an exhibition game and 110-84 in the group stage.
If they win that game, Team USA will move on to the gold medal game to play either France or Germany.
