What is kayak cross, the wildest new event making their Olympic debut?
U.S. Olympian Evy Leibfarth explains what kayak cross is and how it works.
Saturday marked the third day of competition of golf at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
And much like the last two days of golf at Le Golf National, Saturday’s third round set up a big Sunday at the Paris Games, with the top of the leaderboard consisting of six of the top 15 golfers in the Official World Golf Rankings.
Entering Sunday’s contest, there is a two-way tie for the leader in the clubhouse, as the United States’ Xander Schauffele and Spain’s Jon Rahm are both tied at 14 under par. Rahm carried his stellar performance in Friday’s second round into Saturday, as he shot a five-under 66 in Round 3.

Great Britain’s Tommy Fleetwood currently holds the bronze medal, as he is in third place at 13 under par. Fleetwood’s bogey on Hole 12 took him out of a three-way tie with Schauffele and Rahm for gold. Japan’s Hideki Matsuyama, who led the first two days, struggled on Saturday, falling off the podium after recording three bogeys and three birdies on the day.
Elsewhere, Denmark’s Nicolai Hojgaard had an impressive nine-under round to move into a tie with Matsuyama for fourth — a round-to-round increase of 28 spots in the leaderboard.
Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy also remained in contention for a medal, as well. The world’s Nos. 1 and 3 golfers, respectively, are both tied for sixth place at 10 under par after 54 holes.
