It almost happened five years ago, according to the former USWNT star.

“It was pretty serious,” Lloyd said on Up and Adams.

A still-viral video from 2019 showed Lloyd blasting a 55-year field goal through the uprights.

It was a near-perfect kick from a soccer player who won two Olympic gold medals and is back in the news again as the 2024 Summer Games begin in Paris.

“It was a cool experience,” Lloyd said. “Just to show young girls and women around the world that anything is possible.”

She received multiple offers from NFL teams after drilling a kick during Philadelphia Eagles training camp.

Lloyd also reminded NFL fans of the power of women’s football, which in many ways has been more successful than the USMNT.

“If there’s one position in the NFL, a kicker would be a possible position,” Lloyd said.

She stressed that there would be some downsides to the gig.

“You would have big men running at you,” Lloyd said.

But simply by making her 55-yard kick, she proved that she belonged.

“It was a cool experience,” Lloyd said. “Done and dusted.”

She won two World Cups, was twice named FIFA player of the year and made four Olympic teams.

For an era of USWNT fans, Lloyd is the best to take the pitch.

She’s also the only former World Cup and Olympic winner to nail a 55-yard field goal that impressed the NFL so much she received real signing offers.

“Thank you to the @Eagles for having me out!” Lloyd tweeted in August 2019. “Thanks to @JTuck9 @jake_elliott22 @MayorRandyBrown for the good time and tips! #55yd.”

“So impressive!” a fan tweeted in response.

“The Bears need you,” a second fan wrote.

“You go girl,” a third fan said.

Lloyd retired in 2021 and has since been an outspoken media member unafraid to criticize a USWNT that has often failed to meet huge expectations.

The USMNT recently moved on from Gregg Berhalter as head coach and a huge Copa letdown.
