Doughnut lovers, rejoice! Two Greater Cincinnati doughnut shops have recently been named among some of the best in America.
Jupiter Coffee and Donuts in Fairfield was ranked No. 8 for best doughnut shops in the U.S. in USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards. Holtman’s Donut Shop in Cincinnati was also featured, taking the No. 9 spot on the list.
City Donut in Orange Beach, Alabama, finished No. 1 overall.
According to USA Today, Jupiter Coffee and Donuts is known for its Red Storm Roll, which “pays homage to the planet” by featuring a raspberry-filled doughnut with cream cheese frosting and a red swirl on top. The Fairfield doughnut shop is also known for its Miami Maple Merger doughnut, named after its Butler County roots.
Holtman’s Donut Shop, on the other hand, has been serving classic breakfast treats since 1960. Stop by to get a doughnut with chocolate sprinkles, coffee cake, or a “doughssant,” a combination of a doughnut and a croissant.
Selections for USA TODAY’s 10Best rankings are nominated by a panel of industry experts, vetted by 10Best editors, and then voted on by the public. Cincinnati has won in several 10Best categories this year, including best street art, botanical garden, marathon and riverwalk.
