Novak Djokovic bounced back from a tough Wimbledon loss to Carlos Alcaraz by taking gold for Serbia at the Olympics over his Spanish rival. Still, the latest US Open odds have Djokovic as the second-choice on the men’s side.
Meanwhile, a shocking Wimbledon win for Barbora Krejcikova and a historic Olympic gold for Qinwen Zheng has helped to create some intrigue beyond co-favored Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka on the women’s side.
Here are the latest odds to win the 2024 US Open at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

Alexander Zverev | +1,600 |
Matteo Berrettini | +2,500 |

Nick Kyrgios | +4,000 |
Odds as of 8-15-2024.
8-15-2024: The Top 5 of Alcaraz (+125), Djokovic (+220), Sinner (+240), Medvedev (+650), and Zverev (+1,600) has remained static over the last month. However, there was movement below them with Rafael Nadal dropping out and Matteo Berrettini (+2,500) making a major move after taking both the Swiss Open and Austrian Open in the run-up to the year’s final major.
7-16-2024: Novak Djokovic (+220) was able to win his first U.S. Open since 2018 last year, but a forced withdrawal from the 2024 French Open due to a knee injury and a subsequent loss in the Wimbledon finals to Carlos Alcaraz (+125) has him looking up at his Spanish rival on the oddsboard. 2024 Australian Open winner Jannik Sinner (+240) is breathing right down Djokovic’s neck. Daniil Medvedev (+650) is the lone player between +240 (Sinner) and +1,600 (Alexander Zverev) on the board. 10-20-2023: Novak Djokovic (+125) hasn’t had a stranglehold on the U.S. Open like some of the other majors, so it’s not that surprising to see Carlos Alcaraz (+150) right beside the Serbian superstar in the early wagering. If both are upset, the door would be open for Daniil Medvedev (+800), who put up staunch resistance vs. Djokovic in the 2023 finals.

Karolina Muchova | +2,200 |
Odds as of 8-15-2024.
8-15-2024: Barbora Krejcikova (+2,500) has dropped out of the Top 10 in the US Open wagering after being mostly idle following her Wimbledon victory. The biggest mover over the last month was Qinwen Zheng (+2,000) in the aftermath of her gold medal win at Paris, China’s first singles tennis triumph at the Olympics. Still, it’s Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka sitting as the ones to beat on the women’s side at +300 apiece.
7-16-2024: Barbora Krejcikova is getting much more attention than usual in the U.S. Open betting following her Wimbledon upset, but it’s Aryna Sabalenka and 2022 U.S. Open winner Iga Swiatek who are in their customary spots atop the oddsboard tied at +300. Close behind are Elena Rybakina and reigning U.S. Open winner Coco Gauff, each priced at +550. Two-time U.S. Open champion Naomi Osaka (+700) is bridging the gap between the pair at +550 and Krejcikova at +1,800. 10-20-2023: Iga Swiatek was sent packing in the Round of 16 in the 2023 U.S. Open, but oddsmakers have nonetheless installed her as the betting favorite in 2024, a status she holds for each of the other three Grand Slam events as well. Aryna Sabalenka (+470) and Elena Rybakina (+850), both of whom seek their first U.S. Open title, have shorter odds than reigning champ Coco Gauff at most sites.
Here are the US Open singles champions for the last 10 years. Six of the last seven men’s winners are more-or-less a “who’s who” on that side. On the women’s side, there has been a different champion in five straight tournaments.
Year | Men’s Champion | Women’s Champion |
---|---|---|
2023 | Novak Djokovic | Coco Gauff |
2022 | Carlos Alcaraz | Iga Swiatek |
2021 | Daniil Medvedev | Emma Raducanu |
2020 | Dominic Thiem | Naomi Osaka |
2019 | Rafael Nadal | Bianca Andreescu |
2018 | Novak Djokovic | Naomi Osaka |
2017 | Rafael Nadal | Sloane Stephens |
2016 | Stan Wawrinka | Angelique Kerber |
2015 | Novak Djokovic | Flavia Pennetta |
2014 | Marin Cilic | Serena Williams |
Tennis betting is most commonly done with moneyline odds for a match. Each player is assigned a moneyline price and bettors can wager on which one they think will win. Sportsbooks also offer futures odds for each tournament, where you can bet on which player will win that specific tournament.
Tennis futures odds usually look like this:
This means that on a $100 bet, you’ll stand to win $600 if Player A wins the tournament. If it’s close to the end of a tournament or one player has been particularly dominant, you might see someone with a minus sign (-) ahead of their odds:
This means that you would need to wager $120 to win $100 on Player B winning the tournament.
